Looking for some design inspiration to spruce up the new home? Louis Vuitton might have the answer.
Louis Vuitton has long been a luxury name in fashion. Their LV monograph is the ultimate stamp of luxury on any item. Known for their leather handbags, stylish clothing and incredible trunks, it is easy to forget that Louis Vuitton is a brand that focuses on all lifestyle garments- including homewares.
Inspired by the aforementioned handbag, Louis Vuitton launched an Objets Nomades collection in 2012, at the Miami Art Basel. Now, this fabulous collection has been updated and expanded. The beautiful homewares range is the work of a collaboration of nine creatives. Among those creatives are designers Barber & Osgerby, Nendo, Raw Edges, Fernando and Humberto Campana and Patricia Urquiola.
The new additions to the collection were revealed at an exhibition during Milan’s design week, the exhibition was held at Pallazzo Bocconi. Seven new items were unveiled. The homewares are at once both contemporary, yet also reminiscent of the classic bed trunks crafted in the late 19th century. The collection is comprised of sixteen different elements, each as outstanding as the next. A statement from Louis Vuitton reads:
“The collection pays homage to the house’s special orders of the past – such as the iconic Bed Trunk or Wardrobe Trunk – and adds a defiantly contemporary spirit,”
The collection can be purchased from the new Louis Vuitton store in Bond Street, London. Here is a look at some of the new and original items of Objets Nomades….READ MORE
